From the issuer’s ledger to your order page. What happens to a code between minting and redemption, and why that matters when one fails.
Microsoft, Sony, Valve or Nintendo creates the code and records its value, currency and region in its own ledger. Until it is sold, the code is inactive.
Sellers on Keeoto buy codes from issuers or authorised distributors and list them with a region badge. The badge comes from the issuer data, not from the seller.
At checkout the code is locked to your order. Nobody else can buy it, and it appears under Reveal on your order page within seconds.
The platform checks its ledger: is the code real, unused, and valid for your account region. All three checks must pass.
The issuer marks the code as used and credits your wallet. From this point the code is worth nothing to anyone else.
