Farming Simulator 25: Beans & Alpacas launches on 27 October 2026, adding the Brazil-inspired Catuaí map, plantation farming and new livestock. Existing players need the expansion, not another copy of the base game. If you own the Year 2 Season Pass, check it first: it already covers this release.

The announced launch date is Tuesday, 27 October. The US PlayStation Store lists the Beans & Alpacas Edition for 13:00 UTC: 6am PDT in Los Angeles, 9am EDT in New York, 1pm GMT in London, 2pm CET in Berlin, 5pm GST in Dubai and 10pm JST in Tokyo. Those conversions describe that listing, not a verified simultaneous unlock on every storefront. Steam currently gives the date without a precise public hour. There is no confirmed paid early-access window in the product pages checked on 25 October.

The useful choice is between new work you will actually play, not simply the largest bundle. Existing owners do not need to buy the base game again; newcomers need a package that includes Farming Simulator 25. The Year 1 Season Pass is a separate collection containing NEXAT, Plains & Prairies, Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Highlands Fishing. Owning that earlier pass does not cover Beans & Alpacas.
Catuaí uses dry and rainy seasons rather than a snowy winter. Coffee-growing hills, a winding river and dense Atlantic rainforest give the map a different layout from the existing regions. Rain darkens the red soil, forms puddles and changes how building surfaces look. The starter farm includes a farmhouse and vehicles, while nearby services include an animal dealer, a spinnery and coffee-processing facilities. For a new save, the setting affects more than the view: crop planning and the journeys between production sites depend on the region’s climate and geography.
Coffee plantations use a boundary-painting tool rather than a conventional seeder. Draw the growing area, inspect the generated rows, adjust their angle and check the cost before placing them. On Catuaí, plantations can be placed throughout the year, with their initial growth stage adjusted to the season. Coffee progresses through five growth stages before the cherries turn red. Fungal disease adds a treatment step once per harvest cycle, although that setting can be disabled. The KUHN AFS 600 treats two rows in a pass; harvested cherries then go to a processing plant for drying. This is a dedicated equipment-and-logistics activity, so a grain-farming setup alone is not the whole coffee operation.

Bananas can be planted and harvested year-round on Catuaí. Their layout includes rails: cut fruit with a machete, hang it on the rail system and move it to a washing station, where it becomes palletized produce. Hired workers can automate harvesting if you would rather manage the wider farm. Unlike the optional coffee-disease setting, the banana preview says fungicide treatment remains mandatory for diseased plants. After harvest, plants are cut back and regrow, so the plantation continues into another cycle. GIANTS also confirms bananas can grow in other regions, but the year-round claim is specifically for Catuaí.
Alpacas live in stalls and pastures and eat grass and hay. Fleece grows as they mature, and shearing takes place once each spring. Manual shearing is a minigame that requires controlling your pace rather than overloading the equipment; a hired worker can handle the annual job for a fee. First, lead the animal into the barn, where shearing is allowed. Walks raise happiness and are required every in-game day, or monthly with a 12-day year. The fleece appears on a pallet beside the barn, ready for sale or processing. Players who want a more involved livestock routine have a clear reason to consider this expansion; those who prefer automated production can use the worker option.
Brahman cattle offer a different livestock role. They become able to reproduce at 18 months and also produce manure and slurry. Total Mixed Ration can feed them, while meadow planted inside their enclosure can meet up to 40% of their feed needs. That ceiling matters when planning a pasture: grass inside the fence should not be mistaken for a complete feeding solution. Breeding and supplying the remaining feed are still part of the operation.
The new products connect several businesses. Coffee can become roasted or packaged goods, drinks, yogurt and tiramisu; bananas feed washing, drying, dairy, canning and bakery chains. Alpaca fleece goes through the spinnery into wool, then into products such as pillows, socks and furniture. A separate material chain makes paint from pigments and resin for repainting houses. Beyond production, the Research Station is a construction project, and dinosaur bones are uncovered while working fields and collected into a museum skeleton. The expansion therefore gives established players delivery and construction goals as well as new crops to harvest.
Farm customization includes more than 80 new objects and six farmhouses with enterable interiors. In the starter farmhouse, you can change clothes and save. Buildings visibly age, and delivering paint restores their appearance, tying maintenance to the new material economy. New sheds, fences, trees and bushes let players build a farm that fits Catuaí rather than just import an unchanged layout. These details are particularly relevant if arranging and maintaining a farmstead is a large part of how you play.
The Edition preorders on Steam, PlayStation and Xbox include the MacDon Pack; the standalone expansion’s displayed incentive is its 10% preorder discount. None of these listings establishes an earlier playing window. The base Farming Simulator 25 is currently listed with Game Pass Premium/Ultimate on Xbox and PlayStation Plus Extra on PS5, but this does not include a confirmed Beans & Alpacas entitlement. Xbox’s Edition cloud offer explicitly requires a game purchase. If cloud play is your plan, the separate Xbox Cloud Playtime guide explains access and playtime limits; check the exact edition’s eligibility before buying DLC for it.
Steam lists 7GB for the expansion, not the full installation. On Mac, the minimum is macOS 11.3, 8GB RAM and an Intel Core i5-6400 or Apple M1; M1 Pro is recommended. Console download sizes and preload timing remain unconfirmed.

Match the add-on to your installed game: the Steam version explicitly requires Farming Simulator 25 on Steam. Console online play also has a separate membership requirement. PS5 needs PlayStation Plus and supports up to six online players; Xbox lists two-to-six-player online co-op with Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate. Select your own account region when checking local prices and availability, rather than expecting the US prices above to apply worldwide.
Update Farming Simulator 25 before planning a launch session. GIANTS lists version 1.25.0.0, released on 20 October, as the current update; the game updates automatically when connected to the internet. Its changelog includes hired animal workers for alpaca leading and shearing, alongside fixes and other changes. That patch is separate from purchasing the expansion. The checked sources do not specify a definitive minimum Beans & Alpacas build, so use the latest available update rather than treating an older season-pass compatibility note as sufficient.
The strongest case is for players who want a plantation-focused save or more involved animal care. Coffee layouts and banana handling introduce distinct work, while the alpaca routine adds a reason to leave the tractor. Farm builders also get new houses and a paint-maintenance loop. If those activities do not interest you, there is little reason to buy solely for another map. This assessment is based on the announced systems, not hands-on testing; performance, production balance and launch-day reliability still need evidence from the released build.
