Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown launches at 22:00 UTC on October 29, 2026. This paid expansion is separate from the free Enhanced update. Check your storefront, save progress and download plans before buying.

The unlock falls on October 29 at 3 p.m. PDT in Los Angeles, 6 p.m. EDT in New York, 10 p.m. GMT in London and 11 p.m. CET in Paris. Dubai gets October 30 at 2 a.m., Beijing 6 a.m., and Tokyo and Seoul 7 a.m. An earlier official notice lists CEST, but Europe's clocks changed on October 25, and the revised notice correctly uses CET. When in doubt, follow the UTC time.

Enhanced was the free August update for existing owners. It added story refinements, extra voice-over languages and prior post-launch additions. The new name in your library therefore does not prove ownership of Charting the Unknown. Look for the expansion itself in your purchase history or add-on list before paying again.
The US PlayStation expansion page advertises a 10% pre-order discount for purchasers of Enhanced or Enhanced Deluxe. Check the signed-in checkout: the public page still shows $24.99, and eligibility is not the same as a universal price reduction. These prices were checked on October 29, not converted between currencies.
The official overview highlights offshore sailing, underwater ruins, facility management, housing and relationships.
If the character stories are your main attraction but your save is early in the campaign, finish the existing adventure first. Exploration-minded players should check their chosen activity instead of assuming the entire package is postgame.

The announced pre-order items are Charter’s Diving Set for Kliff and Oongka, and Charter’s Light Diving Set for Damiane. Treat them as extras, not a reason to ignore an incompatible storefront or unfinished campaign. The practical purchase decision is whether you want the expansion itself.
Xbox’s base-game listing supports cloud play with eligible Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate subscriptions, but explicitly requires a game purchase. A cloud-play badge therefore does not mean the base game or expansion is included with your subscription. Budget for the paid content unless your own storefront explicitly shows that you already own it.
The first announced Twitch Drops week runs from October 29 at 22:00 UTC to November 4 at 23:59 UTC and is usable by base-game owners. The second runs from November 5 at 00:00 UTC to November 11 at 23:59 UTC; its rewards require the DLC to use. Do not buy the expansion simply to qualify for the first week.
PlayStation allows pre-downloads 24 hours early; Steam, Xbox and Epic downloads start at release. A base-game patch arrives simultaneously and must be installed first. Allow download time instead of treating unlock as a guaranteed session start. Preload is preparation, not an announced early-access period.
The hardware table follows Pearl Abyss’s base-game support page, not a new expansion benchmark. That page’s older 150 GB storage figure does not settle what the expansion needs: Steam lists 50 GB and an SSD on Windows for the DLC, and other storefronts may show different figures. None of these is a verified download size. Follow your launcher’s actual space request, and do not treat a requirements table as a performance guarantee.
Pearl Abyss excludes the Mac App Store at launch. Steam lists macOS 15 and specified Apple processors. These are separate storefront offers, not a promise of cross-buy. Check the exact hardware list rather than assuming that any Mac running that operating system qualifies.
The revised notice also says some markets will not receive the expansion following content and age-rating reviews, but it does not name them. A missing local listing should not be explained away as a preload delay. Affected pre-orders may be refunded automatically or require the platform's normal refund process. Check your transaction status and local store rather than buying through a different region to solve the problem.
Pearl Abyss recommends keeping multiple saves and a separate backup. Its save-data notice warns that older cloud data can overwrite newer local progress, particularly after offline play. Before the launch patch, verify your latest save and let synchronization finish. On Steam, wait for cloud synchronization to reach 100% before closing the client. On PlayStation, compare the timestamps if asked to choose console or cloud data. Do not dismiss a conflict prompt simply because the expansion has reached its unlock time.
If the entitlement is present but the game will not launch correctly, Pearl Abyss’s general support guidance recommends checking known issues and verifying files. On Steam, use Properties, Installed Files, then Verify integrity of game files. On Epic, use the game’s three-dot menu, Manage, then Verify. These are installation checks, not fixes for missing purchases or quest prerequisites. Keep a receipt and a screenshot for support, and back up progress before considering a clean reinstall.
For another current example of why download readiness and content access are separate questions, see the Age of Empires IV expansion and save checks. Its restrictions are specific to that game, not rules to apply to this one.

This guide uses official information checked before launch, not hands-on testing. Final patch details, actual download sizes on each platform and real-world performance still need checking. If the expansion's attraction for you is one particular activity, confirm its requirements and availability before buying. Waiting for launch reports is reasonable when reliability matters more to you than starting immediately.
For an existing owner who wants several of the announced activities and has a suitable save, the expansion is a straightforward additional purchase to consider. For a newcomer, buying the base game first avoids paying for content you may not reach soon. For someone returning after technical trouble, wait for reports on your own platform rather than assuming that a broader feature list also guarantees a smoother experience.
