Mouthwashing reaches consoles on October 29, 2026, with Game Pass access announced for selected plans. Before buying this single-player psychological horror game, separate the digital launch from the physical editions and check which storefront includes the devices you use.

October 29 is the newly announced console date, not Mouthwashing’s original release. The Steam version launched on September 26, 2024. Wrong Organ and CRITICAL REFLEX’s October 20 announcement names PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch; the publisher’s separate Xbox announcement also confirms Xbox One and Xbox on PC.
A shared unlock-hour schedule was not confirmed in the announcements checked on October 25. If you are planning a session in Europe, the Americas or Asia, use the countdown on your own console’s store when available. October 29 does not guarantee midnight access in every country.

Choose the digital base game if you simply want to play; wait for confirmed package contents and delivery details if you want a collectible edition. A PlayStation price was not verified for this guide, so check the PS4 or PS5 listing rather than budgeting from another platform’s price.
PC players have another option: Steam currently lists the game at US$7.79, reduced from US$12.99, with the promotion ending November 3. This is a Steam offer, not a console launch discount. Recheck the live price before paying.
This launch brings the existing horror story to more devices. The publisher describes a first-person, narrative-led game set aboard the stranded freighter Tulpar. Five crew members face dwindling supplies, isolation and a breakdown of trust. Exploration and attention to the surroundings drive the premise; this is not being presented as a multiplayer survival game with friends managing a spaceship together.
The announcement promises access on more platforms, not extra story chapters, a remaster or a new ending. Players returning from PC should not buy a second copy expecting a new campaign. Avoid plot walkthroughs if you want to discover the characters’ histories yourself.
The developers have also announced an October 29 update adding Italian. Because the announcement was posted on Steam, verify the language list for your console version rather than assuming every platform updates identically. Nintendo’s current list includes Japanese, Korean, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, European and Latin American Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese, among others. A supported text language does not automatically mean a fully voiced translation.

Microsoft’s October Game Pass announcement lists Mouthwashing for October 29 on Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium and PC Game Pass. Its device row names cloud, Xbox Series X|S, handheld and PC. Essential is not named. The separate purchase listing supports Xbox One, but that older console is omitted from the subscription announcement’s device row; check the game’s entitlement on your Xbox One rather than treating the two lists as identical.

Xbox Play Anywhere is the clearest ownership benefit here. Microsoft says participating digital purchases through the Xbox or Windows Store work on supported Xbox consoles, Windows PCs and supported Windows handhelds without a second purchase. Sign in with the same Microsoft account; saves, achievements and supported add-ons follow you within that ecosystem. The badge does not turn a Steam, PlayStation or Nintendo purchase into an Xbox license, and it is not a promise of save transfers between those stores. Microsoft’s FAQ specifies Windows 11 handhelds; this badge is not a Steam Deck compatibility certification.
The checked announcements do not establish a console preload timetable or final installed sizes for every platform. Use your device’s install screen for its current requirement and leave room for updates. The Steam requirement below is for PC, not an Xbox, PlayStation or Switch download size.
One specification needs context: the game’s Steam requirements still name 64-bit Windows 7, but Steam ended Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 support on January 1, 2024. Valve does not guarantee continued functionality on those unsupported systems. Do not build a new purchase decision around that old game-level OS line; check the current Steam client requirements and use a supported operating system.

For someone who has waited for a console version, the attraction is playing on their preferred device. Existing Game Pass members should check included access first. Returning PC players should weigh portability or collecting against the cost of another copy, rather than expecting additional story content.
This guide assembles official information, not hands-on testing of the console ports. Performance, loading and controller feel remain untested here. If those details determine your purchase, wait for platform-specific evidence after release; the announcement alone cannot settle them.
