PS5 Prism Collection preorders open November 10, 2026. Before ordering, distinguish a controller you can pair from covers that must physically fit: Sony's announcement does not identify compatible console model numbers.

Direct-from-PlayStation preorders in the UK, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg open at 10am local time on November 10. The Japanese prices above include tax. Covers are exclusive to PlayStation Direct where it operates; elsewhere, select retailers will have limited quantities.
Treat the controller and cover as separate purchases. Write down which one you actually want before opening a preorder page, then check its product name, quantity and final checkout total. A promotional image showing a coordinated setup is not a shopping list. If you only need a second controller, there is no practical reason to add a cosmetic cover just to complete the picture.

Do not decide compatibility from a photograph or a listing that merely says PS5. Sony separates its cover-replacement instructions into CFI-1000 and CFI-2000/7000 groups. That tells you to follow the appropriate procedure; it does not establish that every cover in a group fits every console. A colour name is not a model number, and a matching controller does not resolve the cover question.
A DualSense can connect to supported Windows, Mac, Android and Apple mobile devices by USB or Bluetooth, but connection support is not the same as full feature support. Sony lists Windows 10 64-bit or Windows 11, macOS Big Sur 11.3, iOS and iPadOS 14.5, and Android 12 as supported starting points. Check the device and game together, not just the controller name.
Adaptive triggers depend on the game and are not supported on Android. Haptic feedback also depends on the game; Sony requires USB on PC and does not support it on Mac or mobile. The headset jack needs a wired connection on PC or Mac and is unavailable on mobile. If those features are your reason for buying, verify the exact game and connection method first. A successful Bluetooth pairing alone does not demonstrate that all of them will work.
Buying a controller for a phone also does not answer whether the game itself supports that device. For a current example, the No Man's Sky iPhone and iPad guide separates device requirements from game access and save questions. Make those checks before spending money on an accessory for one particular game.

With confirmed-compatible covers, use Sony's instructions for your model. Shut down the PS5, unplug the power cord and other cables, and let it cool before removing anything. Work on a soft cloth over a flat surface.
For the CFI-2000/7000 procedure, Sony identifies the covers using PlayStation shapes marked inside them. Follow those markings and the illustrated attachment directions. Do not force a cover into place. Sony warns that incorrectly installed covers can cause overheating, so stop and recheck the model-specific guide if the fit is wrong.

The controller product page presents Prism as a transparent, glossy design in Flare Orange, Emerald Green and Graphite Gray. It does not provide a Prism-specific comparison establishing better battery life, different sticks or improved wireless performance. Treat those as unanswered questions, not hidden upgrades. This is a guide to official information and setup checks, not a hands-on assessment of the finish, grip or durability.
Our buying view is straightforward: choose a design because you like its appearance or genuinely need another controller. If your current controller works and your priority is a measurable hardware improvement, wait for specifications that establish one. If you are buying a gift, confirming the recipient's console model and intended games is more useful than trying to surprise them with a complete matching set.
