Rayman Legends Retold launches on 3 December 2026 with a free PS5-exclusive Astro Bot costume. The 28 October reveal does not make it a Deluxe Edition bonus. Here is how to separate platform extras, preorder rewards and the edition differences before buying.

Ubisoft says the outfit unlocks on your first visit to Victor Velour’s costume shop. The announcement covers PS5 and PS5 Pro; no preorder condition is stated. You do not need the more expensive console.

Start with the device where you will actually play, then compare editions within that storefront. If a cosmetic extra is influencing the decision, read its platform label separately from the contents list. A premium edition name does not mean that every exclusive advertised for another system comes with it.
The current US PlayStation and Xbox listings put Standard at $39.99 and Deluxe at $49.99. Both editions include Rayman Legends Retold and Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition; Origins is not the reason to pay the additional $10. Choose Deluxe only if its named costumes and gallery are worth that difference to you. For everyone else, Standard is the sensible place to start: the premium edition adds cosmetics and a gallery, not more game.
The original PlayStation announcement on 2 June named 1 October 2026. That older page remains online, but the newer costume announcement and current platform listings give 3 December 2026. Use the newer date when planning a purchase or time with friends; the old headline is not evidence that this version is already playable.
Ubisoft lists PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, alongside GeForce NOW and Blacknut cloud services. A service listing is not proof that the game is included in your subscription tier or available in every territory. Confirm the actual access offer before subscribing, and use your account’s local store for a release countdown rather than converting the date into an invented worldwide unlock hour.
The core multiplayer promise is an entire adventure playable in couch co-op with up to four people. Xbox’s listing also describes returning Kung Foot competition with revised controls, power-ups and adjustable rules. If you want a shared-screen evening, these details matter more than a costume; make sure your planned controllers and seating arrangement fit the version you buy.

Nintendo’s UK page lists one to four players on a single system, plus GameShare with local users and through GameChat. It also says each player needs a compatible controller. GameChat requires an internet connection, a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership and phone-number registration, with parental approval for children. Those are GameChat conditions, not a statement that every local session needs a subscription.
There is also a save warning: Nintendo’s listing says this game does not support Nintendo Switch Online Save Data Cloud backup. Check that limitation before making Switch 2 your main version if backup convenience matters to you. For a separate example of why sharing details need checking game by game, see the Haunted Paws demo and GameShare guide; do not transfer its rules to this release.
Steam lists a required Ubisoft account that can be linked to Steam. Its minimum requirements include Windows 10, 8 GB RAM, DirectX 12 and 33 GB of available space. Ubisoft’s more detailed specification announcement identifies an SSD and describes the minimum target as 1080p at 60 fps on low settings with Quality-mode FSR or XeSS upscaling. That is a publisher target under stated settings, not a guarantee of native-resolution performance on any PC.
For Europe, the Americas and Asia, check the local listing rather than converting the US example price. Compare the edition contents, supported languages and account requirements in the same storefront where you intend to purchase. The PlayStation page specifically ties its internet, Ubisoft-account and PlayStation Network-account requirements to online features; do not turn that wording into an unsupported claim that all solo play is always online.

This explainer is based on official announcements and store listings, not hands-on testing. Exact tailor progression and equip-menu instructions have not been established here. Wait for the game or explicit instructions rather than following an invented unlock route.
The same caution applies to frame-rate stability, loading times and whether the reworked stages justify buying another version of a familiar game. A cosmetic announcement cannot answer those questions. If you already own Rayman Legends, wait to compare launch testing with the features you actually want before deciding whether this new version adds enough.
