Haunted Paws now has free demos on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 as well as Steam, following its October 28, 2026 announcement. The full adventure is planned for May 2027, so the useful choice this Halloween is how to try it with a partner, not which full-game edition to buy.

LazyFlock's October 28 release-month announcement names demos on those three platforms. The Steam demo itself launched on October 8, so it is not a new PC release just because the Nintendo announcement is recent. Use the current demo listing rather than an old playtest installation or a search result describing an earlier test.
The publisher also names Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PS4, PS5 and Xbox for the planned full release. That is not a statement that a demo is available on every announced platform. The reviewed PlayStation page still says its release date is to be determined, whereas the developer's newer announcement gives a month; neither supplies a specific launch day.

Nintendo describes a pair of customizable puppies searching a haunted mansion for their kidnapped owner. Their abilities include barking, digging and sniffing, with puzzles and key moments requiring teamwork. This is a useful distinction from a solo adventure that merely allows a second person to join occasionally.
For a shared evening, agree on the hardware and connection method before downloading. Two people on one console, two nearby consoles using GameShare and two people joining over the internet are different arrangements. A feature being listed for the full game should not be treated as proof that every demo exposes exactly the same multiplayer choices.
Nintendo's GameShare FAQ explicitly says some games support only one connection method. Haunted Paws' local label therefore matters: the general existence of internet GameShare does not establish that this game supports it. Treat an online session and a locally shared session as separate options to verify, rather than buying a membership to fix a feature that may not be offered.

Receiving a shared game is not the same as purchasing it. Nintendo explains that shared software is playable during the sharing session, and its FAQ says whether save data is created on a guest console depends on the software. Do not promise your partner a permanent copy or a transferable checkpoint simply because they can join you.
Steam's Haunted Paws Demo page lists online co-op, shared or split-screen co-op and Remote Play Together. Its description also mentions inviting a friend through Friend's Pass. These are PC listing details, not evidence that a Nintendo player can join a Steam session or that a console has the same invitation process.
A minimum-spec list is not a promise of a particular frame rate. Check the demo on the computer and controls you will actually use, and allow both players time to install before arranging a session. If one player is streaming through Remote Play Together, that is a different setup from two separate local installations.
The US Nintendo pages have separate Switch and Switch 2 versions. The original Switch listing currently marks its Switch 2 compatibility as untested, while a dedicated Switch 2 product exists. Read the version label instead of assuming a compatibility note on one product describes the other.
Nintendo's listed 2 GB file size is marked as an estimate for the game; it should not be presented as a verified demo download size. Use the console's current download prompt for storage planning. Likewise, check your normal account region's demo availability rather than switching countries because a linked regional web page looks different.

For a separate example of temporary access rules, the Xbox Halloween Free Play Days guide explains its own membership and end-date limits. Those deadlines do not apply to Haunted Paws; each publisher's offer needs to be checked on its own terms.
The reviewed sources do not establish demo-to-full-game save transfer, cross-platform multiplayer, a final purchase price or a precise May release day. This guide has not played the demo and does not promise a completion time or identical content across platforms. Wait for an explicit developer statement before making a purchase depend on any of those features.
