Football Manager 27 is free on PC and Mac until November 3, 2026 at 18:00 GMT. Try it before buying. All game modes are included.

Free play ends November 3 at 10:00 PST, 13:00 EST, 15:00 Brasília, 18:00 GMT, 19:00 CET, 22:00 UAE or 23:30 India; Japan and South Korea: November 4 at 03:00.
Put the closing time in your calendar now, especially if you plan to test it after work. Allow time for downloading, setting up a career and playing a match; a last-minute installation gives you little useful evidence for a buying decision.
Epic’s Demo label and Microsoft’s “requires a game” banner can look inconsistent with a free offer. Use the product-specific instructions above: Epic has a separate preview listing, while Microsoft’s description tells you to claim the add-on before returning to the main game. Check the account shown in your launcher before downloading, so your later purchase and saves are easy to find.

After that, access continues for players with an eligible pre-purchase from a SEGA-approved digital retailer or an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscription. Full release starts November 10. The preview covers computers, not consoles or mobile devices.
Steam’s US listing currently shows US$53.99, reduced from US$59.99. The price is a regional example checked October 30, not a worldwide quote. Before paying, confirm the currency, operating system and account in your own store. A discount is only useful if you actually want to keep playing after testing. For another example of subscription access having specific conditions, see the PS Plus November games and membership rules.
Preview careers continue into the full game. That promise does not establish automatic cross-store cloud transfers. Keep a separate backup before experimenting with installations or imported careers.
SEGA recommends weekly or fortnightly autosaves with New File for Each Auto Save. Set that before getting attached to a long career. On a different computer, sign into the same platform account, choose Load Game and then Cloud, and select your saved career. This requires an internet connection and a save that was actually stored in that platform’s cloud.
For local backups, SEGA places Windows saves under Documents, Sports Interactive, the Football Manager title folder and games. On Mac, the corresponding folder is in Library, Application Support, Sports Interactive. Finder’s Go menu reveals Library while you hold Option. Copy important saves somewhere separate; do not delete the original merely because a cloud icon is visible.

Steam lists 6 GB RAM minimum, 12 GB recommended and 20 GB storage for Windows and Mac. Windows requires DirectX 11 and SSE4.2/SSSE3 processor support. Check the complete operating-system, CPU and graphics requirements against your machine; free space alone does not establish compatibility. The storage requirement is not a promise about the exact download size.
For a useful trial, begin with a modest league selection. SEGA says the number of nations and leagues a save can handle depends on the computer. Advanced Setup lets you choose them when creating a career. Later, FM Menu’s Add/Remove Leagues option applies changes on the relevant nation’s league update day, rather than instantly. This gives you a way to expand after assessing how your setup behaves.
SEGA’s newer UK support update, dated October 29 at 20:03 UTC, marks the Steam “Game not released” installation problem resolved. If it persists, restart Steam and retry the Free Launch Preview. The older US support version still describes an investigation, so reading only that copy can give the wrong impression about the current status.
If restarting does not help, record the exact error, store account and whether you redeemed a pre-purchase before contacting SEGA support. Avoid paying for a second copy as a troubleshooting step. Preview updates should download automatically; SEGA’s access guide says relaunching the game client can prompt a missing update.

Tactical Effectiveness connects training, recruitment and your chosen instructions. Sports Interactive describes gauges in the Tactics, Training and Recruitment screens that reflect how comfortable the squad is with your approach. Tactical Complexity tracks the detail in your instructions: adding more is not automatically a better fit for the available players.
Use those systems as a practical trial checklist. Can you understand why the team is struggling, find the relevant training options and make a change without hunting through menus? Test readability, saving and loading, processing speed and match presentation on the device you actually intend to use. This article is based on official documentation, not hands-on testing; it cannot judge season-long balance or stability on your hardware. Some club and player assets may be absent pending rights-holder approvals. These images show development material.
