Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 starts November 6, 2026, at 05:00 UTC. Check your Warzone device and existing pass entitlement before spending. For controller setup on a supported PS5, see the DualSense setup and feature checks.

The premium Battle Pass costs 1,100 COD Points; the Battle Pass Bundle costs 2,400 COD Points. Full Warzone details are due November 2. Neither paid offer keeps an unsupported console online.

Activision says Warzone becomes unplayable on PS4 and Xbox One when Season 1 begins. Other Call of Duty games released for those consoles are unaffected by this specific change. On a supported device, use the same linked Activision account: progression and content bought with COD Points carry over. Unspent COD Points and most purchases made with local currency remain platform-linked, with access on a current-generation console in the same family.
If moving from PlayStation to Xbox, do not budget as though your currency balance will follow your character. Privately record your balance and receipts first. If an item appears missing, check the original account and storefront before buying a replacement.
Modern Warfare 4 stores online progression on the Activision account. Its support guide explicitly warns that linking a platform account to a different Activision account does not transfer that progress. A matching display name is not a substitute for checking the actual account. Confirm access to its email address before moving hardware: verification emails are used for account linking and other sensitive changes.
For a mixed-platform squad, exchange the full Activision ID, including its numbered suffix, rather than relying only on a console nickname. The Social menu accepts Activision friends as well as current-console friends. Make this a preparation task, not a last-minute account-repair experiment while everybody else is waiting in a lobby. If the wrong profile appears, stop and establish which account owns the progress before unlinking anything.

The October 23 bonus-content support page says existing Vault Edition buyers receive their BlackCell offering at the start of Season 1, including 1,100 COD Points and 20 tier skips. No redemption code is required for that entitlement. It covers one season, not every pass throughout the game’s year. If you already bought Vault, check the season screen and your purchase record before buying a separate pass to solve an apparent missing reward.
Digital Standard Edition owners can buy a Vault upgrade; physical editions cannot be upgraded that way. Treat the upgrade and a standalone seasonal purchase as separate products. Compare the exact offer on your own storefront rather than converting a US headline price into a local total. Read the included-season wording at checkout, particularly if buying after a season has already begun; official pages use different wording about later purchase timing.
Warzone’s separate operator-toggle announcement includes an important limitation: legacy weapons remain under the Legacy tab, but their previous custom loadouts and Gunsmith functionality are not supported. Legacy base weapons instead have five-attachment versions unlockable through the Armory, while legacy blueprints keep their existing attachment setups. Check your preferred equipment again rather than assuming an old saved class will behave exactly as before.
The new operator filter is off by default and affects only what you see. Enabling it substitutes Modern Warfare 4 operators for other players’ legacy appearances; your own selected operator remains visible to you. It does not change somebody else’s display. Activision also corrected its earlier wording about legacy weapon camos: do not read the carry-forward announcement as a promise that every cosmetic category transfers unchanged.

Modern Warfare 4’s published PC requirements include TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot, alongside broadband and DirectX 12 compatibility. The listed 115 GB SSD requirement is a launch specification, not a confirmed Season 1 download size. Activision warns that mandatory updates may require extra storage. Check the live installation prompt for your machine before deciding that a drive has enough room; installed size and download size answer different questions.
If you cannot find the game in your PC library, Activision’s installation guide calls the Steam entry Call of Duty. In the Xbox PC app, an Installed filter can hide a title that has not yet been installed. On consoles, the guide recommends completing available system updates before game installation. These are useful first checks when preparing another device, rather than reasons to purchase another copy immediately.
As of October 29, this guide does not claim a universal Season 1 patch size, uninterrupted launch access or a final Warzone playlist schedule. Check the live client notices before making firm plans. There is no hands-on performance assessment here: the purpose is to remove avoidable account, purchase and setup mistakes before the transition.
