Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds has started Year Two with a free gameplay update and a separate paid DLC lineup. Existing owners can try Duel Mode and work toward unlocking Bayonetta without buying Season Pass Two. The important shopping distinction is that the original Digital Deluxe Edition and the new Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition include different passes, despite sharing a US$59.99 price on PlayStation Store.

Duel Mode changes the focus from a 12-racer pack to a single opponent. You manage your distance from that rival and how you use items, while a separate Duel Boost gauge rewards timing and item use. SEGA describes offline CPU rivals, online matchmaking and friend races, so there is a useful reason to return even if none of the new paid crossovers interests you.
The new Grand Master Plate adds a seventh gadget slot that strengthens a compatible one-slot gadget. You need at least 40 races to unlock the plate; players who already meet that condition qualify after updating. The 15 new gadgets also require the Grand Master Plate or higher. Bayonetta is earned by progressing through offline Rival Duel, rather than being handed out with a pass purchase.

The Godzilla Pack is the first paid Year Two pack. Its Steam listing shows US$5.99 for the Godzilla Escape course, three machines called Godzilla Cruiser, King Ghidorah Coupe and Mothra Surf, plus music and sounds. It does not list a playable Godzilla racer. Buy it for the course and vehicles, not because you expect to select the monster as a driver.
Owners of Season Pass Two or the Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition already have access to this pack. SEGA’s DLC instructions say to update the game, launch it and complete the tutorial before using the content. If it is missing, check those conditions and your purchase history before buying the same DLC again.
This crossover is separate from the fighting game covered in our Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered launch guide. Check which game a code names before redeeming it.

At the checked Steam prices, the US$39.99 base game plus the US$29.99 second pass totals US$69.98. The US$59.99 Year Two bundle saves a new buyer US$9.99 against those two separate purchases. Existing owners would pay more for a duplicate base game. Prices here are US-dollar store examples checked November 4; use the checkout currency and final total for your own account.
SEGA says you must own both the original Season Pass and Season Pass Two for the Super Shadow bonus. Buying the individual packs separately does not qualify, even if your library appears to contain all their main content. The Super Shadow racer is limited to Grand Prix mode; do not buy another pass expecting to use him in every online mode.
Treat that bonus as a deciding factor only if you want the passes themselves. Compare the full pass price with the single crossover you wanted, rather than buying purely for the bonus.
The update covers PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, Steam and Epic. US announcements use November 3, while the English pages on SEGA’s official game site date the patch and Godzilla content November 4. That looks like a regional or time-zone difference, not a reason to promise one midnight unlock worldwide. Check your installed version and local store availability instead of relying on a date copied from another region.

Season Pass Two is a staggered purchase, not six packs delivered at once. After Godzilla, the announced schedule is EVANGELION in January 2027, Virtual Sanrio Puroland in the second quarter, SEGALAND and the working-title Midgar pack in the third quarter, and Reload Revival Royal in the fourth quarter. Those quarter-based windows are not exact launch dates. Judge the pass against both what is available now and how much you want its later content.
The 2.0.0 patch notes label Best-of-10 Duel competitions as coming soon. They also document misleading pre-event text, including “Round -1,” so that screen is not proof that you need to buy a pass. Play Missions require an internet connection. This guide checks official announcements and listings, not hands-on performance or live matchmaking; the update’s competitive balance still needs real play to assess.
