Marvel Rivals Night of Illusions: dates, rewards and buying checks

Check Marvel Rivals Night of Illusions deadlines, separate cosmetic offers, regional Lattice prices and return-to-play requirements before spending.

Overview

Marvel Rivals' Night of Illusions is a puzzle event with a December 31 deadline, not a Halloween-night-only activity. Before returning, separate its rewards from the newly listed shop bundles, update your installation and check the account on which you intend to keep playing.

Separate the two deadlines

The event opened October 29 at 09:00 UTC. Its December 31 cutoff is 1 a.m. PST, 4 a.m. EST, 9 a.m. GMT, 10 a.m. CET, 1 p.m. UAE time and 6 p.m. JST.

Storm and Iron Man Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls bundles became available October 30 at 02:00 UTC. The announcement does not assign them the Winter Soldier bundle’s November end date. Check the specific item’s timer before deciding whether a purchase can wait.

Start without buying currency

PlayStation lists the base game as free, with optional purchases and online play required. Separate PS4 and PS5 versions are available; the Xbox listing names Series X|S for local play, while Steam provides the Windows version. Check the actual product version instead of assuming every device with an Xbox or PlayStation account can install the same client.

The PS5 page's Premium requirement refers to supported cloud streaming on PS5 and PlayStation Portal. It should not be read as a requirement to purchase that tier simply to download the free game. Decide first whether you are installing locally or trying to use a streaming service, then check the requirements for that route.

The event and shop are also different spending decisions. Start by reading the event's own task and reward screens, then inspect a cosmetic only if you actually want it. Buying currency in advance can leave a balance you did not need, particularly when you have not checked the price or contents of the item that prompted the purchase.

Compare currency on your own platform

UK storefronts illustrate why the checkout matters. On October 31, the PS4 PlayStation listing showed 1,000 Lattice for £7.99 and 500 for £3.99; the UK Xbox page showed £8.49 and £4.39 respectively. These are observed regional pack prices, not the cost of a particular Halloween bundle or a currency-conversion calculation.

Do not buy a pack on a different platform merely because its headline price is lower. Verify where it will be credited and whether it meets the needs of the account you actually use. A larger pack is not better value for your purposes if it costs more overall and leaves currency that you would not otherwise have bought.

⚠️
Rewards and bundles are different
An event reward list is not a list of everything newly available in the shop. Check whether an item is earned through a task, included in a bundle or sold separately before spending.

Prepare the PC installation

Steam currently lists 70 GB of available storage, 16 GB RAM, Windows 10 64-bit version 1909 or newer and DirectX 12. Its minimum graphics options are a GTX 1060, RX 580 or Intel Arc A380, with an i5-6600K or Ryzen 5 1600X processor. An SSD is recommended in the listing.

Those requirements are not the size of the October 29 patch. Check the launcher’s actual download and disk-space request, especially if you have not played for several updates. Allow time for installation before arranging a session with friends rather than assuming a free-to-play download will be small.

Steam also lists a separate free High-Resolution Pack and NetEase Game Security anti-cheat. Check what you have selected to install and compare your hardware with the current store requirements. This guide does not benchmark the pack or promise that selecting it will improve performance on your computer.

Return with a clean client

NetEase's October 15 notice warns that certain modifications use memory injection or alter visibility, recoil effects, audio or character models in ways that create an unfair advantage. It says lifting some earlier suspensions was not permission to keep using the affected modifications. Returning players should review old customisations rather than assuming something used months ago is still acceptable.

The developer directs affected users to stop the relevant programs and remove the violating modifications, and offers official Customer Support appeals for penalties believed to be mistaken. Do not install an unofficial bypass to solve an anti-cheat problem. If you cannot identify what changed your client, use official support rather than experimenting with more third-party tools.

A short return-to-play checklist

01
Update before opening the event Let your official launcher or console finish its current update. If you are troubleshooting, note the displayed version and exact error instead of assuming every issue is part of the Halloween event.
02
Confirm your account Check your profile and existing inventory before claiming rewards or buying anything. Do not start linking or replacing accounts merely to make a missing item appear without first reading the relevant account guidance.
03
Test your controls Use practice facilities to check aiming, sensitivity and any remapped actions before joining friends. The PlayStation listing documents control remapping, stick sensitivity and a practice mode.
04
Check completion and claims Read each task and its reward status in the current event interface. If a reward seems missing, record the task, account and error details for support rather than purchasing a similarly named item as a workaround.

For another game's separate return-to-play requirements, the Apex Legends Cipher account and launch guide covers its own checks. Do not carry account-transfer or reward assumptions from one live-service game into another.

What this guide does not assume

The reviewed patch announcement does not give exact cosmetic prices or a room-by-room solution, and this guide has not played through the puzzles. It therefore does not invent reward quantities, completion times or a claim that every task can be finished in one sitting. Use the event screen for the current task requirements and claim status.
