Phoenix Cyclops is now a paid character in MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, with a separate purchase and a Year 1 Pass route. The important distinction is between unlocking the fighter, buying his optional costumes and purchasing the base game: none of those names should be treated as interchangeable.

Arc System Works has made the Phoenix-powered version of Scott Summers its first Year 1 DLC fighter. His toolset combines close-range attacks and Optic Blasts with fire attacks that cover a broad area. Using Optic Blasts builds Solar Shards; collecting four enables his Dark Phoenix transformation, a temporary power increase that also carries health-depletion risk.
That makes resource management the useful gameplay question, rather than simply whether this is the familiar Cyclops design. The developer describes him as an all-rounder, but its announcement does not establish his competitive strength. Treat those mechanics as a reason to inspect his move set, not proof that buying him will improve your results.

For an existing player interested in this one fighter, the standalone purchase is the smaller commitment. The pass makes sense only if its additional characters and stage matter to you. Do not multiply the current character price by four and call that a guaranteed saving: that would assume future individual prices and put an invented value on the stage.
The pass listing still includes a broad delivery statement that its remaining content is expected by 31 December 2027. That is a delivery horizon for the package, not a requirement to wait until then for Cyclops. His own Steam product has a specific 2 November 2026 release date, which is more useful for checking this already-released component.

The $4.99 US Steam Phoenix Cyclops Classic Costume Pack lists Classic and Legacy outfits, eight costume colors, a Classic Costume Online Lobby Avatar and eight avatar colors. Its requirements explicitly name both the base game and the separately owned fighter.
If you own only the base game and want both the fighter and these outfits, the listed US Steam prices total $12.98 before any applicable tax. If you already have the pass, the $7.99 character purchase is unnecessary. Review what is marked as owned before checkout, especially when the store displays multiple add-ons with the same character name.

The base game is $59.99 on US Steam at this check. Its four-versus-four format means teams of four characters, not eight people controlling one match: PlayStation’s FAQ describes two players facing each other with their chosen teams. Offline options include Training, local Versus and Episode Mode, which are useful places to decide whether the team structure suits you before committing to extra characters.
There is also a specific US PlayStation Store offer worth separating from old launch promotions. Digital Deluxe is listed at $67.99, reduced from $84.99, with an end time of 5 November 2026 at 07:59 UTC. It includes the game, Year 1 pass, Howard the Duck lobby avatar and Cosmo lobby pet. This is a US PS5 price check, not a promise of the same offer on Steam or in another country.
For someone starting from nothing, compare the local Deluxe total with the base game plus the particular DLC they want. For someone who already owns the game, an edition containing another base-game entitlement may be the wrong comparison. The cheapest headline price is not helpful if it covers content you already own or omits the fighter you meant to buy.
The US PlayStation game page advertises a three-hour PlayStation Plus Premium trial. That is a way to try the game under the displayed membership terms, not evidence that Phoenix Cyclops or his costumes are included in the trial. Check the trial screen and the character’s ownership status separately; do not buy a subscription solely on an assumption about DLC access.
PlayStation confirms PS5–PC cross-play, while PS5 online modes require PlayStation Plus. Offline play does not require that subscription. Those are separate questions from owning a paid character. The distinction between timed access and a monthly claim is also explained in the November PlayStation Plus membership guide.
Readers in Europe, the Americas and Asia should use the store attached to their own account for currency, eligibility and the final checkout total. A US offer’s UTC deadline does not establish another region’s promotion. Likewise, a North American announcement date is not a universal local-midnight promise; the useful check now is whether the character is available in your own platform’s add-on listing.
This is a buying explainer based on official product pages and developer information, not a hands-on review of Cyclops. It does not establish his balance, matchup strength or the current experience of online matchmaking. If those determine whether you spend money, wait for evidence about the live character rather than treating a trailer or a costume image as a verdict.
