Apex Legends: Cipher launches November 3, 2026. Returning players should check their account, platform and Ranked plans before queueing; the larger 2027 overhaul is separate.

Cipher reworks Crypto, adds dual Wingman revolvers and introduces alarm-triggering Strongholds. Lifeline and Revenant receive buffs.

The October 20 Ranked roadmap puts Legend bans into Season 31 matches with Diamond-or-higher players, alongside Drop Zone deployment. Each player nominates one Legend. Votes affect the odds, then a weighted random selection determines the bans. The most popular vote is not guaranteed to win, so practise a backup rather than assuming your preferred character will always be available.
Read the Lobby Tier and entry cost before dropping. Squads at least two tiers below that lobby tier become Challengers with reduced entry costs; squads at least two tiers above become Goliaths with increased costs. The roadmap also removes Road to Ranked challenges and announces account level 20 for access, while leaving the threshold open to further review.
Iron, Emerald, Grandmaster and the Open/Pro-Am structure belong to Season 32 in early 2027. Do not plan November’s climb around that future ladder. For another live-service launch where dates and access differ, see the Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 access checks.
PC players returning after a break may encounter a different anticheat system. EA announced the switch to Javelin for September 29, 2026, with migration handled by downloading the game update and launching it. Its Apex-specific announcement says Secure Boot was not required at that time, unlike some other games using the same anticheat technology.
Do not follow a firmware tutorial for another EA title just because the Javelin name matches. Start with the actual message Apex displays and the current game-specific support instructions. Record the error text and whether the game reaches its menu before trying fixes. This separates an installation or launch problem from a connection problem after you have already signed in.

Cross Progression follows your EA Account, so your platform account must be linked to the EA Account holding your progress. Check the linked accounts in the EA Account Portal before changing devices. Progress is permanently attached to that EA Account and cannot be moved to a different one.
EA says Apex progress from two different EA Accounts cannot be merged. If you discover that you have used more than one account, establish which one owns the career and items you want before buying anything else. A new season is a poor moment to test account changes you cannot easily reverse. Keep your account check separate from adding friends: playing together does not require sharing a login.
Original Nintendo Switch support ended on August 4, 2026. Switch 2 remains supported, so an old installation on the first console is not a route into Cipher. EA says purchases and progress carry to Switch 2 through the same EA Account, even if you upgrade after the shutdown date. You can download the game on Switch 2 and sign in with that account rather than assuming the old hardware must still connect.
Check the age of any purchased currency as well. EA’s Nintendo support notice says currency purchased in Japan has a 180-day expiration period across all platforms. Do not assume keeping an unused balance guarantees it will remain available indefinitely; verify the local purchase terms before adding more.
Switch 2 has a separate Apex Coins wallet. PC, Xbox and PlayStation share the other wallet, which is not visible on Switch 2. A different balance after changing devices can therefore be expected rather than evidence that your purchases vanished.
For genuinely missing purchases, EA recommends restarting the game and system, checking the EA Account and checking server status. Confirm the transaction completed and keep its receipt. If content is still missing after 24 hours, contact EA through its official support page with the platform, account information, item details and proof of purchase. Avoid buying the same item again while the first transaction is unresolved.

For groups spread across Europe, the Americas and Asia, check the connection rather than promising identical responsiveness for everyone. In Settings, open Gameplay and enable Performance Display to see frame rate, latency and packet loss. These measurements help distinguish a slow connection from poor rendering performance.
At the launch screen, before selecting Continue, use Data Center in the bottom-left corner. EA recommends the closest location; a distant connection can increase latency and packet loss. If every location looks poor, check server status before changing your setup. If there is no reported outage, investigate busy Wi-Fi, background applications and other devices sharing the connection.
The reviewed official material confirms a date, not an exact worldwide unlock hour or download size. Wait for the final patch notes and the update shown by your platform rather than treating a countdown based on past seasons as a guarantee. This is a preparation guide based on official information, not hands-on testing. Server stability and the competitive impact of the changes will need observation after release.
