Helldivers 2’s Liberty Day gift is scheduled for the end of the celebration. Returning players should also check account continuity and recent PC changes.

Arrowhead’s 26 October 2026 announcement says the AR-23L Liberator Legacy rifle will be distributed at 23:59 CET that day. Its eligibility footnote covers everyone who has played since 26 September 2026 at 00:00 CET—not just people visiting during Liberty Day.
These are conversions of one scheduled distribution, not separate regional launches.

Arrowhead’s account FAQ confirms crossplay between PC, PlayStation and Xbox, but no cross-buy, cross-save or cross-progression. Connecting Steam and PlayStation Network accounts does not copy characters or items. Support also says it cannot move commemorative items between accounts or merge progress.
Start with the platform where your established character lives. If you recently changed hardware, distinguish replacing a machine from moving to another platform account. Before treating an empty inventory as a missing reward, check that the account name and existing progression are the ones you expected. Do not share your login details with anyone offering to move an item for you.
Playing together and sharing a save are separate capabilities. The same distinction is useful when comparing other multiplayer games; the PEAK console crossplay and cross-save guide explains why a supported friend connection does not automatically mean portable progress. For this event, avoid assuming that activity recorded on one platform qualifies a different account.
On 20 October, Arrowhead replaced GameGuard with Easy Anti-Cheat. Its Steam announcement says the change did not introduce new hardware requirements, and Linux and Steam Deck compatibility remained unchanged. Some cosmetic modifications may need updates from their creators; Arrowhead does not guarantee the safety or usefulness of mods.
That announcement separates an anti-cheat change from a hardware upgrade requirement. It does not establish a frame-rate promise or certify every modified installation. If your last successful session was before the transition, make a note of that date before troubleshooting. It gives support a more useful starting point than simply reporting that the game used to work.

Arrowhead’s crash guide, updated on 26 October, addresses installations affected after the anti-cheat switch. It identifies residual mod files and old anti-cheat components as possible troubleshooting targets. The guide also recommends updating Windows and graphics drivers, restarting the PC and verifying game files through Steam.
A file verification or restart is a troubleshooting action, not proof of reward eligibility. Likewise, a successful launch does not tell you when a server-side item will appear. Test whether the original symptom changed, then return to the relevant question rather than repeatedly reinstalling for an unrelated problem.
Arrowhead’s known-issues list, last edited on 22 October, includes an Xbox client immediately returning to the ship when joining a PC host. The list is not exhaustive, and the team says most crashes and connection problems are ongoing issues that are not listed there. A failed cross-platform session therefore is not, by itself, evidence that an account is excluded from a giveaway.
When reporting a connection failure, identify both the host platform and the joining platform. Include whether the same attempt works with a different host, if you have already tested that safely. Do not buy another copy or create a replacement account as an improvised diagnosis: neither establishes what happened to the original session.

If an expected item is still absent after the stated distribution time, check the official announcement for amendments before opening a ticket. Include your platform, relevant account identifier, the approximate date you last played, and the time you checked the inventory with its time zone. Describe the item by its full name, not merely “the free gun.”
Attach a relevant screenshot if it helps explain what you see, but remove unrelated personal information. Do not include a password, recovery code or payment details. Keep the report factual: an item not visible at one particular time is an observation, not confirmation that distribution failed for everybody. Use Arrowhead’s official support form rather than a third-party reward-claim page.
These public pages cannot verify an individual account’s status. The useful next evidence is an official update or a reply to a documented support ticket, not another player’s screenshot. Keep your local troubleshooting results separate from claims about the wider service.
