Hunter's Moon is out on PS5. Before buying Twin Swans' new folk-horror game, separate three questions: can you follow its dialogue, can you play without a connection, and does a subscription supply the game or merely another way to access it? This guide explains which details to check and where the official descriptions stop short of a guarantee.

Twin Swans has launched a first-person folk-horror game set in rural 17th-century England. You play Lilith Thorne, a woman accused of witchcraft and pursued by a Witchfinder General, a magistrate and a huntsman. The developer presents survival and escape as the stakes of her journey.
The developer describes a story unfolding over one night, with stealth and eavesdropping central to finding help. Its PlayStation Blog introduction explains that listening outside windows can reveal both threats and possible allies. That makes dialogue access a practical consideration, not just a settings-page extra. For a different recent horror release, our Mouthwashing console guide covers its platforms and purchase options.

Twin Swans gives the launch time as midnight UTC on 26 October 2026 and now marks the game as available. One simultaneous unlock falls on different calendar dates: 25 October at 5pm in Los Angeles and 8pm in New York; 26 October at midnight in London, 1am in Paris and 9am in Tokyo. Europe returned to standard time on 25 October, so those London and Paris conversions use GMT and CET.
The earlier PlayStation announcement consequently listed 25 October for North America and 26 October for the UK, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Those dates are not evidence of two separate launches. If a search result still says 25 October, check its regional context rather than assuming the developer changed the release date.
PlayStation Store lists 12 accessibility features, including separate volume controls, 3D audio, large subtitles and stick inversion. Its basic-subtitle description is narrower than complete dialogue coverage: main story and main characters only. The listing also says play does not require rapid or simultaneous button presses, motion controls, touch controls, vibration or adaptive-trigger effects. Offline gameplay and cinematics can be paused.
For anyone relying on subtitles, the key question is coverage, not simply whether text can be enlarged. A larger caption cannot help with speech that is not captioned. Before buying specifically for dialogue access, ask the developer whether incidental conversations important to play are included. We have not independently tested the options, their readability or how consistently they work during play.

The game is listed for one player with offline play enabled. Separately, its PS5 and PS Portal cloud-streaming label requires PlayStation Plus Premium. These describe different ways to play: installing a purchase on the console is not the same as running a streamed session.
Sony's cloud-streaming service covers selected catalog titles and selected digital PS5 games that players own. A streaming-compatible badge therefore does not establish that Hunter's Moon belongs to the subscription catalog. Look for an explicit inclusion offer on your own account before treating it as a no-extra-purchase benefit. Do not buy a subscription solely on the assumption that this badge supplies the game.
Sony also limits cloud streaming by supported region, account eligibility and compatible games; availability can change. PS Portal streaming requires an adult account, Premium and suitable Wi-Fi. For travel or unreliable connectivity, decide whether you need an installed offline option before choosing a device. Streaming remains a network-dependent route even when the same game supports offline play on a console.

The store marks Hunter's Moon as PS5 Pro Enhanced, but that label alone does not specify frame rate, resolution or available graphics modes. We have not verified those targets or performed hands-on testing. If smoothness or a particular display mode determines your purchase, wait for a documented specification or measured test instead of reading a performance promise into the badge.
