Marvel Cosmic Invasion: The Siege of Castle Doom launches on November 10, 2026, adding playable Doctor Doom and Invisible Woman alongside a run-based castle mode. Dotemu’s October 26 gameplay reveal explains the new challenge, but this is paid downloadable content, not a free character update or a standalone game.

Castle Doom is built around repeated attempts rather than simply adding another fixed campaign stage. You choose routes through Doctor Doom’s stronghold while trying to stop his Cosmic Inductor. According to Dotemu, filling the Siege Gauge before reaching the final confrontation ends the attempt; enemies also become stronger as that gauge rises. The immediate goal is therefore not just surviving individual fights, but keeping the whole assault under control.
Victories supply Battery Cells for Reed Richards’ Stabilizer. The publisher describes 12 perks covering defensive, damage and tactical benefits, while failed challenges can weaken your fighters. Successful runs contribute permanent unlocks at Reed’s Lab, including equipment, events and modifiers. That combination makes the mode most relevant to players who want reasons to experiment with the combat after finishing the original adventure, rather than anyone seeking a separately playable sequel.

Tribute Games’ developer breakdown gives the route choices a practical meaning. Equipment doors offer special powers; event doors change the rules of an encounter; healing doors restore health. Other doors can grant unlimited ammunition or focus, or provide batteries for progression. Choosing between these rewards is part of the challenge, not just a cosmetic choice of corridor.
Perks apply individually to each hero across Offense, Defense and Tactical branches. For a regular co-op group, the useful question is how different builds complement one another rather than whether everyone selects the same upgrade. The developer also describes an MVP statistics display in multiplayer and new hero color palettes earned through completed runs. Those are announced systems, not evidence that progression speed or balance will suit every group.
Doctor Doom brings technology and occult abilities; Susan Storm, the Invisible Woman, uses light manipulation and force fields. Dotemu revealed the pair on October 8. They belong to The Siege of Castle Doom, whereas Cyclops & The Thing is a separate earlier add-on. Owning that first character pack should not be treated as proof that this second DLC is included.
The original game’s Cosmic Swap system lets you select two heroes and switch between them during a level. Its official website also describes local and online drop-in/drop-out play. Those features explain the appeal of expanding your available pairings, but they do not establish a rule allowing one DLC owner to unlock paid characters for every other player. Verify that specific entitlement before a group splits its purchases.

Dotemu lists Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S for November 10. Xbox One is not in that announced platform list. Nintendo’s US Switch 2 listing showed $7.99 when checked on November 1; that is a price for that specific US product, not a confirmed worldwide or cross-platform price. Steam’s DLC listing showed the date but no purchase price during this check.
Japan’s publisher H2 Interactive also announces November 10 for the PlayStation and Nintendo versions, but explicitly warns that time differences may move the Japanese availability date. The reviewed announcements do not provide a universal unlock hour. Readers in Europe, the Americas and Asia should therefore use the date and countdown on their own platform’s regional listing rather than assume midnight local time or convert an unconfirmed US launch hour.
Steam explicitly requires the base Marvel Cosmic Invasion game to use this add-on. Its current base-game page also offers a demo: that can help newcomers decide whether the underlying combat appeals before budgeting for both products. It is not confirmation that the demo contains the new mode. Steam lists English audio alongside interface and subtitle support including French, German, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese and both Spanish variants; check the selected console edition separately for its language information.
For a contrasting current update that is not this expansion, the Rayman Legends Retold Astro Bot costume guide distinguishes its free costume offer from edition contents. Here, the important distinction is between owning Marvel Cosmic Invasion and owning its paid Castle Doom add-on.

This preview is based on official announcements and store listings, not hands-on testing. The reveal explains the structure, but not how long a typical run will take, how repetitive encounters become or how consistently online sessions perform. Screenshots cannot establish frame rates, loading times or handheld battery life. No complete platform-by-platform pricing or universal unlock schedule was verified in the sources reviewed.
Existing players who enjoy replaying fights have a clearer reason to watch this release than those who only want a new linear story. Newcomers should try the available Steam demo or assess the base game first; adding DLC cannot solve a dislike of its fundamental combat style. If price, accessibility in this specific mode or mixed-ownership co-op will decide the purchase, wait for the final store details and launch documentation rather than treating promotional descriptions as answers.
