Xbox Free Play Days runs November 5–8, 2026. Here is how to choose a trial, avoid buying the wrong edition and plan around Anno 117: Pax Romana’s Xbox cutoff.
Choose by the account you will actually use, rather than a subscription badge on a promotional image. If you already have another entitlement to a game, compare that with the weekend offer before paying for anything new.
Ubisoft’s official timing map puts the Anno 117 Xbox window at November 5, 16:00 UTC to November 9, 07:00 UTC. The closing time is November 8 at 11 p.m. PST in Los Angeles, or November 9 at 7 a.m. GMT in London, 8 a.m. CET in central Europe and 11 a.m. GST in the UAE. Its PC and PS5 windows end five hours later, at 12:00 UTC on November 9.
The published end date depends on your time zone and platform. Read the Xbox schedule when planning console play, and do not use Anno’s clock as a deadline for unrelated games.
The Anno offer includes the base game, with multiplayer and co-op compatibility, but no DLC. Dawn of the Delta launched alongside the promotion, so its Egyptian province is easy to mistake for free-weekend content. It is a separate expansion. Use the trial to decide whether the underlying city-building and economy management suit you before considering additional regions.
Anno 117 and Crime Boss list Xbox Series X|S as their local console platforms. Their current store pages also retain subscription requirements for online console multiplayer. Treat the no-Game-Pass promotion as access to the game, then verify the multiplayer prompt on your account before promising friends a subscription-free online session. The event announcement does not explicitly resolve that separate requirement.
Crime Boss supports a single-player campaign and co-op for two to four players, with missions available alone, with bots or with friends. Anno lists single-player, two-to-four-player co-op and larger multiplayer sessions. Test the mode you expect to use with your regular group.
Cloud is another separate entitlement. Those two store pages describe cloud play with a qualifying Game Pass plan and game purchase; that wording does not establish free-weekend streaming access. Prefer a local install on supported hardware unless your signed-in cloud listing explicitly grants play. Likewise, a Steam screenshot or a PC store listing is not proof that this Xbox promotion unlocks every PC version.
In the Xbox Store, select Subscriptions, then Free Play Days. Open each game and inspect the offer while signed in.
Before starting a download, read the supported-device list and available storage on your own console. Nowhere Prophet lists Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, while the Anno and Crime Boss listings are Series X|S titles. The collection’s presence on an Xbox One does not make every game in it locally playable there.
Anno’s Gold Edition includes the base game and Year 1 Pass, covering Prophecies of Ash, The Hippodrome and Dawn of the Delta. Its store also sells cosmetic packs separately. Buy the larger package only if those specific expansions are what you want; the trial is a better starting point when you are still deciding whether you enjoy managing production chains.
Compare the final price in your own currency and the exact included items. PAYDAY 3’s Big Score Bundle, for example, lists character, weapon and tailor packs alongside the base game. A bigger content list is not automatically better value for someone who only wants to join friends for a few heists. Check what you already own before purchasing overlapping packs.

Ubisoft confirms that Anno progress carries into a purchase. Keep the account and platform consistent when continuing, and check any separate transfer rules before changing stores. For other titles, verify the specific save behavior you need rather than treating achievements, campaign progress and cross-platform transfers as interchangeable promises.
