Once Human’s free Isles of Abyss scenario is live. Before joining friends, distinguish the main PvE scenario from the separate PvP RaidZone, then agree on a server.

New players can select Isles of Abyss after the introductory experience; existing players use scenario signup. The permanent-server date above is the launch notes’ expectation, superseding 12 November in the earlier preview. It is not a guaranteed deadline.

Once Human supports cross-platform play between PC, mobile, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, but players in different regions cannot play together. Agree on the same region, scenario and server. After the beginner stages, use More Servers to find the intended destination. Avoid servers marked [Console] if PC or mobile friends are joining.
Write down the agreed server details in your group chat before anyone starts. Crossplay and shared progression answer different questions, as the PEAK crossplay and cross-save explainer also illustrates. Check both rather than assuming that one feature guarantees the other.
The ocean setting changes the rhythm of a session. Ships function as travelling bases, workshops and artillery platforms, with cooperation extending to fleets. The developer describes five ocean regions: after the starter island, players choose the order in which they explore the other four. That gives a group room to choose its next destination instead of treating every outing as the same route.

Land and sea resources serve different purposes. Island materials advance naval technology, while deep-sea materials support land equipment. Underwater exploration therefore feeds back into your character’s equipment rather than existing only as scenery. For a mixed group, that suggests a practical way to plan: decide whether the next trip is meant to improve the ship or the equipment you use ashore.

The 23 October fixes lower the Team system’s unlock requirement in Isles of Abyss from Tech Level 2 to Tech Level 1.
Other fixes cover movement rollback aboard ships, stuck ships teleporting players incorrectly, and ship placement failing with Ignore Facilities selected. Mobile players get a tree-chopping fix. Custom-server repairs address missing RaidZone memetics and the blocked Head to a New Area task.
These are specific repair claims, not a guarantee of flawless play. Calamity Owl clipping is also listed, but without confirmation of a fix.
The 22 October notes address incorrect rewards from the Isles of Abyss Deviation Selection Gift Box. Choosing Employee No. H37’s Submarine Attitude variant could give Prototype instead; choosing Space Turner’s Water Cube could give White Cliff Remnant. The developer said the correctly selected Deviations would be sent by in-game mail within two business days. Check the item names and your mailbox before assuming the selection has been lost permanently.
That earlier fix list also covers difficulty boarding in first-person view and a mobile hang while selecting the Battle Pass Lost & Returned Pack. Some issues listed as ongoing on 22 October, including the ship rollback problem, were subsequently marked fixed on 23 October. Reading only yesterday’s list can therefore produce the wrong troubleshooting advice.
If your problem continues, record the platform, server type, affected item or task, and what happened immediately before it. Keep a screenshot of any error or incorrect reward. Those details make a report far more useful than a general statement that the update is broken. Do not rely on workarounds the developer has not documented.
The 23 October illegal-teaming notice applies specifically to RaidZone. It prohibits bypassing the Team function to cooperate against other players in groups exceeding the Hive limit. Do not treat an informal agreement with another group as permission to exceed the mode’s permitted team size. Check the displayed Hive limit in-game before organising a group.
The game provides an Illegal Teaming report option. Confirmed violations can bring a warning and a character ban lasting three hours to seven days; repeated or severe cases can lead to an account ban of up to 30 days. The notice also says violation records do not reset with a new season. Use the intended in-game grouping system rather than relying on the next seasonal transition to erase a restriction.
This guide is based on official documentation, not hands-on testing. It cannot establish current server vacancies or measure performance on your hardware. Check the live server selection screen before organising a session, and use the most recent dated fix entry when comparing a problem with the developer’s known issues.
