Pokémon Pokopia Dazzling Decorations: date, price and free event

Dazzling Decorations arrives December 9. Check Expansion Pass ownership, story requirements and the separate free Apples to Applin event before paying.

Overview

Pokémon Pokopia adds Dazzling Decorations on December 9, 2026, bringing accessories for Ditto and other Pokémon, extra furniture and more Pokémon to meet. It is Part 2 of the paid Expansion Pass, so existing pass owners do not need another purchase. The free Apples to Applin event starts earlier, on November 16, and does not require the pass.

Part 2 arrives on December 9

The Pokémon Company announced the date on November 4, and Nintendo’s dedicated Part 2 listing agrees. Some broader pass pages still show a June 9 release date or describe Part 2 as coming in late 2026. June 9 is the pass listing’s date, not the release of every included chapter. Use December 9 for Dazzling Decorations; an exact regional unlock hour is not confirmed in the sources checked.

The new accessories include sunglasses, bow ties and a Sylveon ribbon. Ditto and neighboring Pokémon can wear them, and the chapter also adds furniture and more Pokémon to befriend. There is no new town in Part 2. If exploring a new area is your main reason to buy, distinguish this decorating-focused chapter from Bubbly Basin, the already available first part, and the new town planned for Part 3 in 2027.

Check what you already own

Nintendo’s US listings show US$34.99 for the Expansion Pass, US$69.99 for the base game and US$104.99 for the combined bundle, checked November 7. These US-dollar examples are not worldwide prices or guaranteed checkout totals. Compare the exact contents and regional price before paying.

01
Already own the game and pass One pass covers all three parts as they release, including Part 2. Check the purchasing Nintendo Account and installed content before buying again.
02
Own only Pokémon Pokopia The Expansion Pass is the additional purchase for Dazzling Decorations. You cannot buy Part 2 separately. The pass does not include the base game.
03
Have not bought the base game Compare the base game alone with the explicitly named Game + Expansion Pass bundle. At the listed US prices, buying separately totals US$104.98, one cent below the bundle. There is no headline bundle saving at those regular prices.

If accessories are your only interest, wait for a fuller item list before buying three chapters. Existing owners can try the free event first.

Finish these requests before launch

01
Complete the Withered Wasteland requests Finish “Raise the environment level!” and “Rebuild the Pokémon Center!” in Withered Wasteland. Do not substitute the similarly named Bleak Beach requirement used for Bubbly Basin.
02
Finish Drifloon’s request Complete “Find a doll!” as well. Purchasing the pass does not bypass these progression requirements, so check your current save before the December release.
03
Install the required software update Apply the free version 3.0.0 update before starting Dazzling Decorations when it becomes available. That requirement does not mean version 3.0.0 is already downloadable.
⚠️
The update and pass are different
A free software update does not grant ownership of the paid Expansion Pass. Conversely, buying the pass does not complete the required requests. If access is missing, check the content’s release date, software version, ownership and story progress before paying again.

The free Applin event starts earlier

Apples to Applin runs from November 16 at 5:00 a.m. to December 1 at 4:59 a.m., according to the official announcement. That announcement does not name a time zone, so do not turn these into a worldwide UTC countdown. Check the in-game notice and keep the console’s date and time aligned with the actual date and time, as the event instructions require.

All Pokémon Pokopia players can participate. Befriend Applin, collect Syrupy Apples and exchange them for items including apple-themed furniture. Habitats built with those items can attract Flapple, Appletun, Dipplin and Hydrapple. Pokémon befriended during the event remain in town afterward, so the ending does not remove those new friends.

To begin, use version 2.0.1 or later, complete a town’s important request to rebuild its Pokémon Center, and start the software while connected to the internet. The event does not run on Cloud Islands or in Bubbly Basin. If you meet the conditions during the event but nothing appears, the official instructions say to visit another town and return, or use Save & Quit and reopen the software.

Check bonuses, accounts and storage

Pass buyers can claim a dynamic Ditto print recipe through the main menu: Downloadable Content, then Check Items, then Receive. Nintendo also lists an emailed bonus code for 30 rare Pokémetal ingots, which are obtainable through normal play. Follow the purchase and redemption deadlines on your regional offer rather than buying purely for these materials. The bonus is usable once, so choose the intended save before claiming it.

Gift claims require an internet connection and a linked Nintendo Account, but not a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership. Online multiplayer has separate membership requirements. Pokémon Pokopia is a Nintendo Switch 2 game; its local GameShare guest option is not ownership of the base game or pass, and shared play ends with the session.

For imported copies or download codes, verify the supported region under Software Information, then Support Information in the software’s Options menu. Nintendo says DLC region compatibility depends on the software, while Nintendo eShop Cards work only in their intended country or region. Do not assume a playable imported base game guarantees that every regional add-on or wallet card will match it.

Nintendo lists 6.8 GB for the base game and an estimated 3 MB on the Part 2 page. Neither figure establishes the final download size of version 3.0.0. Leave room for updates and check the console’s download screen; the small DLC listing is not a promise that the entire December update needs only 3 MB.

If you are checking other games with free updates and paid additions, our Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Year Two guide explains its separate pass contents. Treat each game’s included-items list independently.

What remains unconfirmed

The sources checked do not establish the exact Part 2 unlock hour, a preload schedule, final update size or a complete accessory and Pokémon roster. Part 3 still has a 2027 window rather than a precise date. This explainer draws on official announcements and store listings, not hands-on play of Dazzling Decorations; its performance, content depth and overall value will need assessment after release.
