Saros: Zenith adds boss rush, New Game+ and combat adjustments. The free update arrived on 19 October 2026.

Access Overlord Rush through Passage’s Primary Unit. Incursion and Ascension contain three bosses each; Totality includes eight. Filter leaderboards by Main Weapon. After clearing the game, new Armor Matrix nodes unlock Eclipse Layers: New Game+ with a required Trial Modifier threshold.

Housemarque’s follow-up notes for 02.000.001 adjust the Overdrive charging rate in Overlord Rush and the times required for an Overlord Rush Time Bonus. They do not publish numeric values or say whether each threshold became easier. Avoid treating an older score guide as a reliable statement of the current balance.
The same patch fixes Modifier selections resetting after closing the game when Unlimited Protection Modifiers is turned on, plus some lucenite turning invisible in Overlord Rush. If either problem affected your last session, check the installed version before testing again. These are specific fixes, not a claim that every possible problem has been resolved.
Zenith adds ten Protection Modifiers and ten Trial Modifiers, but not all twenty are available during an initial playthrough. Half are available there and half unlock in Eclipse Layers. An unavailable option is therefore not automatically an installation problem. The Crown begins at Eclipse Layer 2, rather than appearing as soon as you install the update.

Modifier Mastery is earned by defeating hostiles while modifiers are equipped. Six new trophies cover Overlord Rush, Eclipse Layers and modifiers. The patch also adds high-contrast solid fills or outlines for the player and enemies, giving visual readability its own adjustment instead of requiring a difficulty change. Motion Sensor Aiming adds another control option for players who prefer to aim with controller movement.

Slow Game Speed is adjustable, automatic during combat or manually toggled. Auto-fire shoots when aiming at a hostile, but does not automate reloading. Perfect reloads still require a timed press.
The existing Carcosan Modifier system separates Protections, which reduce challenge, from Trials, which raise it. Before combining several options, read their individual effects. Overlord Restoration restores armour integrity for a boss encounter, while Growth Incapacitor I removes Second Chance and Growth Incapacitor II removes Armor Matrix enhancements. These examples predate Zenith.
Housemarque’s pre-launch accessibility details also named controller remapping, Dialogue Focus and colourblind features that help distinguish Normal, Corrupted and Nova projectiles. If recognising an attack is the difficulty, start with visibility settings. If reaching a button is the difficulty, review the control layout. Changing the relevant setting first makes it easier to understand what helped.
The original DualSense layout assigns different actions to two stages of L2: a half-press activates alt-fire, while a full press activates the Power Weapon. That distinction matters when you are relearning the controls after a break. A press that crosses the second stage can produce a different action from the one you intended.
This trigger arrangement predates Zenith. It is worth checking alongside your current control configuration, rather than treating every unfamiliar response as a new patch issue.
The developer’s 23 October behind-the-scenes article explains the thinking behind Carcosa’s Overlords. Housemarque shaped the world and combat vision, while Nixxes worked on encounter design, animation, environments, lighting and technical implementation. The discussion describes three distinct phases and the intention to make movement decisions matter.
Shielding, jumping, parrying and dashing are part of that design, not interchangeable emergency buttons. For a practice session, pay attention to which response you chose and what the attack did next. The developer’s aim of making a defeat understandable is a design intention, not a guarantee that every player will find each encounter fair. This article does not judge that claim from hands-on play.
The official product page lists Saros as a one-player PS5 game with offline play enabled. It also lists PS5 Pro enhancements. Competition through a score table should not be mistaken for a mode in which friends join your run. The platform listing does not establish a PC or Xbox edition.
For a contrasting example of actual shared play, the PEAK crossplay and cross-save explainer separates multiplayer access from progression sharing. Apply that same habit here: check the specific feature you want rather than relying on the word “online”.
The available notes do not provide a complete numerical account of the latest balance changes. They also cannot establish performance on your particular console setup. This explainer uses official documentation, not testing; verify the installed version and current in-game options before planning a score attempt around an older guide.
